Privacy & Cookies
We respect your privacy. This page explains what information our website collects, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are
This website is run by Butler Court Guest Accommodation, 14 Patrick Street, Kilkenny R95FT9X, Ireland (proprietors John & Yvonne Dalton). We are responsible (the “data controller”) for personal information collected through this website.
Questions about your information: email [email protected] or call +353 56 7761178.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry. Our reservation form asks for your name, email address, phone number, postal address, preferred dates, room preference and your message. We use these details only to answer your enquiry and, if you book, to arrange your stay. If enabled, we email you a copy of what you sent.
Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and our security provider (Cloudflare) process your IP address and basic browser information to deliver the website and protect it from spam and attacks. The reservation form includes a Cloudflare Turnstile security check and limits how many enquiries can be sent, which also uses your IP address.
Website statistics. Only if you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to see how visitors use the website (for example, which pages are visited and how many enquiries are sent). We do not send your name, email or other form details to Google Analytics.
Why we use it (legal basis)
- Answering enquiries and arranging bookings – to take steps you ask for before entering into a booking with us.
- Keeping the website secure – our legitimate interest in protecting the website and our email from spam and abuse.
- Website statistics – your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the website:
- Our web hosting provider – hosts the website and the server that sends enquiry emails.
- Google – our email inbox, and Google Analytics if you accept cookies.
- Cloudflare – delivers the website quickly and securely, and runs the security check on the reservation form.
Google and Cloudflare may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
The website does not store your enquiry. The form sends it straight to our email inbox and keeps no copy. Security information used to limit enquiries is held only briefly. Google Analytics statistics are kept for 2 months.
Information held outside this website
This policy covers this website only. For information we hold about you as a guest – for example your booking, our email correspondence or check-in records – please ask at reception or contact us directly.
Your rights
Under data protection law (GDPR) you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of these, just email us.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
